Fully Concealed Home cinema complete with invisible speakers
Like many of our customers, this client began their journey by booking a demo at our Home Cinema Centre. After experiencing various setups, they were particularly drawn to the invisible speaker system, which provided outstanding sound quality while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. Their goal was to create a sleek and elegant space without any visible technology. The final design incorporated a fully concealed 7.1.4 surround sound system and a 113” hidden projector screen, delivering a premium home cinema experience without compromising the room's aesthetics.
To achieve a completely hidden home cinema, the design incorporated a ceiling-recessed projector lift a ceiling recessed projector screen and an invisible speaker system. The challenge was to integrate high-performance AV equipment seamlessly while maintaining a clean and unobtrusive design. The setup needed to provide an immersive cinematic experience while blending effortlessly into the surrounding décor when not in use.

PRODUCTS
The home cinema system was built around a Pure Theatre CR260 ceiling-recessed projector screen, providing a generous 113” viewing experience. The Epson EH-TW9400 projector was housed in a CR50 motorised projector lift, allowing it to retract completely into the ceiling when not in use.
For sound, a 7.1.4 surround sound system was installed using five JBL C83 invisible speakers for the front LCR and surrounds, while six C62 speakers were placed in the ceiling for height and surround channels. A REL 1205 subwoofer delivered deep and powerful bass, completing the audio experience. The system was powered by an Arcam AVR11 AV receiver and an Arcam PA410 amplifier, ensuring superior sound quality and seamless performance.

CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
One of the primary challenges in this project was the presence of large bifold doors that opened onto a courtyard. The client did not want a television to dominate the space, so the solution was a ceiling-recessed projector screen. This allowed for the installation of a 113” screen that could be lowered in front of the doors when needed. The blackout fabric used in the screen helped control ambient light, eliminating the need for additional blackout blinds—curtains on the windows were sufficient.

Another common challenge in home cinema installations is speaker placement, particularly for the centre channel. Since the bifold doors occupied most of the front wall, there was no space for a conventional centre speaker. The solution was to place the centre speaker in the ceiling just in front of the screen, ensuring clear and precise dialogue without disrupting the room’s layout. To ensure a seamless installation process, our home cinema specialists worked closely with the builders on-site, providing guidance on correct placement, wiring, and setup to guarantee optimal performance.
OUTCOME
The finished space exudes a refined and minimalist aesthetic, with all cinema components hidden from view when not in use. When retracted, the system is virtually undetectable, maintaining the room’s clean and elegant design. However, when the client wishes to enjoy a movie or TV show, the large screen and immersive surround sound system create a truly cinematic experience. The combination of cutting-edge technology and discreet installation has resulted in a stunning entertainment space that perfectly balances functionality and design.
